Years after the death of the famous gladiator Maximus, the Roman Empire returns to a new era of power struggles, intrigue and bloodlust.

Lucius, once a child who idolised Maximus, is suddenly drawn into the maelstrom of imperial politics and brutal arena battles. Caught between Roman decadence and burgeoning rebellion, he must decide who he really is – and what he is willing to fight for.
